It might stem from a compatibility issue with Debian itself, likely related to the kernel given your recent hardware. We’re certain Ubuntu functions properly, so you could test it. If it still displays black screens, there’s probably a BIOS configuration problem on your side. If you’d rather use Debian instead of Ubuntu, consider trying Sid or Unstable.

I set up Ubuntu 18.10 without much hesitation. I accessed the live installation and selected the hard drive. It wasn’t the top pick initially, but it worked fine.
