It's odd since the live USB functioned properly, indicating it defaults to loading nouveau by default. What kind of SSD is this?

You might set up Kali because it’s designed for penetration testing and security research, not for everyday use. Installing it alongside Debian or Ubuntu can help you access its specialized tools when needed.

Not a terminal command, it's a kernel parameter. In the boot menu, I'm sure you can edit entries
