You're encountering the BIOS USB over current alert during startup on your Asus X670E-I mini itx motherboard. Despite removing all USB ports and even testing with a different card, the issue persists, indicating a possible USB hub interference. The board's design includes extra headers on vertical daughterboards, and some components like the ROG FPS-II seem to contribute to the problem. There appears to be a hidden or obscured section in the manual that affects the motherboard's I/O functionality. This seems to be a recurring issue with similar setups.

Yes, I can capture a clear image of the interior of each built-in USB port.

Ensure each port is verified carefully. Confirm that none of the pins have "peels back" and are not touching other pins or the casing.

I haven’t observed any problems with the USB ports. I ran GPT-4’s image analysis to check for anything unusual, but it didn’t detect anything out of the ordinary. You might want to look at the USB headers on the motherboard for front I/O and inspect them for visible damage. Also, examine the solder joints on the back near the USB headers for any bending or issues. Regarding your question, could you describe what you were doing when the issue first appeared? Were you starting up your PC and it started unexpectedly, or did it happen while using the system? Thanks!

Thanks for checking. I removed the motherboard headers after powering off the PC, but the problem kept happening on the next boot. I took some photos of the front USB ports. It suddenly stopped working after a workday and hadn’t changed in months. I’m considering inspecting the soldering, though the big heatsink blocks visibility. Should I start the RMA process for the board now?
