Error indicating CPU overheating Problem detected when temperature exceeds safe limits
Hey there! I've been using this machine for over two years and everything seems normal. One day I brought it back home and noticed the fans spinning really fast. I restarted the system and saw the error message on the American Megatrends site. I checked the CPU cooler, confirmed a missing screw, and replaced the thermal paste. After that, it worked fine until I restarted again. Now it’s heating up to over 70°C in BIOS and 90+ when I’m on the home screen, though all fans are spinning properly. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Hardware: i5-7600K, Corsair Hydro H100i v2, ASUS Strix H270F motherboard.
@Eigenvektor received another working screw, everything functioned properly again. The computer had been off briefly, which helped it cool down before I tried it once more, and after a restart the same issue appeared. @AndreiArgeanu Also struggled when trying to apply pressure during startup without success.
Do you only have a standard heatsink and a fan that you can attach to the CPU? Maybe your AIO pump failed.
Tried a different pump; initial heat was higher, same issue occurred during second start.
