I recently replaced my CPU from the Ryzen 5 2600x to the 5600x and everything functioned properly. When attempting to install Ryzen Master, it failed. I found an online guide that helped remove old registry entries for Ryzen Master, which resolved the issue. After that, the installation worked well. I played some games briefly before experiencing a BSOD at startup. The error message displayed matches what’s listed, and I can’t enter safe mode or use SFC/scannow in the recovery prompt. Windows was reinstalled without losing my files, and everything is now operational. I then tried updating Windows again, but the process didn’t go as smoothly as before. It seems my CPU cores were limited to just one after some changes. I restarted and adjusted the boot options in msconfig, but fast boot didn’t help. Checking BIOS revealed RAM issues, so I turned it off and left it on. Now I’m stuck with the same error involving storport.sys. I’m confused and considering a reset of my power settings, as some advice suggested it might be causing the problem. My hardware specs are: CPU – Ryzen 5 5600x, GPU – 3060ti, M.2 storage (500GB), Kingston 240GB drive, and a 1TB hard drive.
Are you relying on any special tools like LVM or software raid? If not, consider safe mode and remove it or adjust it for better stability. You might want to relocate "C:" to a more reliable storage device.
Right now, after the second reset, I executed SFC and DISM commands to check for improvements. The PC hasn’t encountered the problem yet. If it does, I’ll keep the discussion updated.
