Hello, I’m just starting out on this website and I’m hoping I haven’t violated any rules yet. I’ve been using the system for at least a year now, but things have become a bit problematic recently. It began about a week ago. Initially, it displayed a “POST error occurred, which could have happened if new hardware was installed.” After that, the BIOS error beeps started appearing. I checked my motherboard’s documentation and found it mentioned something related to VGA options, specifically the VGA option ROM. Here’s the link to the manual: Error Messages And Beep Codes; Speaker; Bios Beep Codes - Intel DQ77MK Specification [Page 79].

Intel DQ77MK Manual Online: it explains error messages and beep codes, speaker issues, and BIOS beep codes. 4.1 Speaker The mounted speaker gives audible error code information during startup. For details on the speaker’s location, see section 4.2. Bios Beep Codes – whenever a...

I tried a few things without much success:
1. Removed the CMOS battery.
2. Ran the PC without the GPU.
3. Reinstalled RAM sticks.
4. Cleaned the PCI-e socket.
5. Inspected all wires for damage (none found, though I might have missed something).

What I can’t do right now:
1. Purchase new parts like a GPU, CPU, or motherboard.
2. Access BIOS settings directly.
3. Test components on another machine (planned if the issue is more serious).

PC Specifications:
- Motherboard: Intel DQ77MK
- GPU: GTX 1060 6GB MSI Aero
- CPU: Core i5 2500
- RAM: 8GB DDR3 1600 MHz
- SSD: Gigabyte 256GB
- Monitor: Random CTX monitor from 2005
- PSU: Chieftech 450W GPA-450S8

It may take some time, but I really appreciate your assistance and your advance thanks.

Thank you for your message. This update on the PC's startup issue is clear. The problem might stem from the power connector, power outlet, or video input. It’s possible the main port failed or the socket became damaged.

Hello there! Just a quick note about the PSU I’m using – it’s a 450W model with a GPA-450S8 rating. I’d suggest checking if a friend or neighbor has a higher quality one and see how it performs. Also, there could be compatibility concerns with the motherboard, especially since I’ve dealt with Intel boards before and they’re quite particular about RAM specifications. What’s your RAM setup – 8GB DDR3 at 1600 MHz?

Thanks for your response. I'll look for a different PSU once I'm back home to test with my build. Regarding RAM, it performed well before then, but since I purchased all parts second-hand, it seems the issue might be related to the PSU.

After a prolonged effort to find a PSU, I was still unable to secure one. I plan to purchase a new one and observe the outcome.

I just visited the technician's place, he told me he couldn't fix the issue and handed over the computer to me. I attempted to use the spare power cord, but it still doesn't work at home. I'll let you know once things get better.
