It seems the interface appears to open abruptly, followed by a brief beep before the system restarts.

Keep pressing F8 during startup until the options appear. Choose "Do not automatically restart on system error" or similar to stop the automatic shutdown.

The BSOD error code would be very useful for diagnosing this issue. Also, did you set up that Windows XP copy on the same hard drive as your main computer? If you're connecting it from another machine, you might face driver conflicts. From my experience, OEM systems often cause problems during installation and data transfer.

Syloui explains that if your XP isn<|pad|>, it’s likely the drivers won’t match your system’s hardware. This causes crashes or BSODs. Insert the disk while the PC is running from your Win10 setup, and you can restore data that way.

If the XP installation wasn’t completed on that machine, it won’t have the required drivers to function properly. This causes it to crash immediately every time because older operating systems lack the stability of Windows 8 and later, and they don’t update drivers when used on hardware different from the one it was originally installed on.
