Error encountered with Asus RT-AX56U LAN DHCP connection.
Hi Everyone, Recently LAN stopped working on my router suddenly (I was using my PC at the time). This problem impacted more than one Windows device, so it likely relates to the router itself. The interesting thing is that WiFi remained functional without any issues. Was it a lease that was active on my device? No, because after resetting the router, my WiFi devices still connected and accessed the internet. I've also contacted my ISP; DHCP seems normal on their side and they confirmed I have the correct WAN IP. Checking my machine with ipconfig showed my IP was set to APIPA. I've tried several solutions: 1) Switching to a new router didn't help—still couldn't set it up properly, only accessible via phone and WiFi. 2) Factory resetting the router failed after setup; LAN still couldn't connect. 3) Removing my TP Link Network Switch didn't resolve anything. 4) Connecting directly to the modem gave me the WAN IP, indicating the modem works fine. All WiFi devices are working as expected. 5) Using a different machine on the LAN still caused issues. 6) Changing the network cable from Modem to Router didn't work. 7) Setting a static IP with correct details didn't help. 8) Disabling and re-enabling the network adapter didn't fix it. 9) Power cycling the machine, router, and modem also failed. 10) The ISP is sending technicians to replace my modem. Do you have any other suggestions I could try while waiting?
