Hello! I'm having trouble installing a driver from the Microsoft Update Catalog. It's a .cab file, but I'm getting a 0x80070002 error when using the cmd or powershell. I've tried searching online and found instructions, but it's still not working. Anyone have any suggestions? I used the command you posted and the PowerShell command, but both caused issues.

The issue seems to stem from the update database not aligning with what the Microsoft servers expect. Some users resolved it by removing or renaming the SoftwareDistribution folder in their Windows directory, though this may not apply to your case. It's usually best to allow Windows Update to manage the driver installation or obtain the driver directly from the manufacturer. Edit: You're likely using PowerShell/CMD with admin privileges?

Yes, I was running it as an administrator. I was trying to install some drivers manually, because I had a problem with my laptop (see HERE ), but apparently I resolved it. Still, I don't think that's a definitive solution, but I hope that it will work, without the bug coming back after a couple of weeks/months.

Consider downloading the newest chipset driver from HP's site. I've experienced odd audio problems before, and they resolved once the chipset drivers were applied.

I've worked with HP websites for a Pavillion laptop before, so I get it. What's the model number? Do you think you're still using 22H2? Updated July 11, 2023 by AMDKilla Spelling

It seems the Ryzen 4500U includes the chipset directly on the processor, which is why there isn't a separate driver listed. You might want to use AMD's graphics installer instead of Windows Update or HP drivers. According to my recollection, it supports updating the chipset and other input/output components along with the GPU. Visit https://www.amd.com/en/support for details, then download and run the auto-detection tool.
