When launching Assassin's Creed 2 earlier, the system would briefly halt for about eight seconds before restarting again for a few seconds. It would then crash immediately after the Ubisoft icon appeared. This time it behaved similarly but didn't launch the game first, instead showing the error page at http://imgur.com/9BoJZdj. I checked the game's cache on Steam, but it didn't resolve the issue. Your specs are: i5 4460 with 12 GB RAM, 1600 MHz clock speed, 650W PSU, 1 TB HDD, Western Digital R7 250X GPU, Windows 7 OS 64-bit.

I noticed that my other titles like Skyrim and GTA V aren't functioning the same way as Assassin's Creed 2. Skyrim would prompt me to start Steam, while GTA V indicates a failure to launch Steam. Yet World at War seems to work unexpectedly.

It looks like steam resolved the issue, allowing my games to run smoothly again. I also understand that uplay launching and logging in caused the lag before.
