Hello all, I'm having an issue with my system. I think I've narrowed it down to the CPU, but I would like to know the opinion of others that know more then I do in this matter. I've tried OCing my system when I got it and before learning that the z490 mobos come with an "enhance" feature, I ran cinabench and my CPU temps skyrocketed to 100c at which point the system restarted. I've disabled that feature in the mobo and left things at (mostly) default, with the exception of changing the loadline amount from normal (70) to 30 and leaving XPM, XMP... PMX... On, which saw to my vcore and temps being lower at no cost to performance. For a good month the system was running just fine, up until just a week ago or so, where the system was constantly crashing with no error message, it would restart constantly. I've now disabled the ram OC as well as I don't know whats causing the crashes. When it started crashing, I was running the latest W10 version and saw that the update was causing some problems, so I went back to the 1906 version. It crashed only a couple of times, then it stopped and everything went to normal. Fast forward to now, I was trying to edit some videos and changing some settings causes the system crashed. The few errors I've gotten: fault in nonpage area - I searched this up and saw people suggesting, disabling paging, I tried that and it did nothing. driver overran stack buffer There ware a few others, but I didn't get the error name. Now, I've downclocked my CPU to 46 from 49 (I don't remember the actual terms, ratio, maybe...), and tried changing settings in the video editor multiple times with no issues... I say that now... Anyway. Since doing that, the computer has not crashed. I would like to know, is this a bad chip, did I screw something up when the PC overheated, should I be asking for a replacement? I've tried the ratio of 48, and it chashed. It seems like the PC is more stable at lower cpu core ratio... But that defeats the purpose of having this CPU, I think. I know, kind of a long post, but I would really like the opinion of others on this matter. Thank you very much!

At the standard setting, my CPU operates at 4900MHz, maintaining consistent performance during gaming regardless of temperature. I realized this is typical behavior. I turned off the overclocking option that increases voltage beyond specifications, based on observations from Gamer Nexus. The main issue arises only with the unmentioned program, which triggers a BSOD when the CPU ratio is set to 49—unusual since it runs smoothly at lower ratios like 4600MHz. I’m unsure if this indicates a faulty CPU.
