Hey everyone, I just set up Windows 10 on my Packard Bell ixtreme M5740 from 2009. Whenever I power it on, Windows won’t start properly because of a recent hardware or software change. I’ve tried fixing it more than three times, but nothing worked. Anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

Attempting to restart the PC exactly leads to the same issues. The window logo appears, but the system freezes or crashes with a BSOD. The boot process completes without success, and the operating system hasn’t been changed. Windows 10 might not be compatible with this older machine.

I'm experiencing a black screen for about five minutes after booting up. The message indicates Windows can't start because of a recent hardware or software change, and it shows an error code 0xc000000f. I have a photo, but I'm from the Netherlands.

Consider reinstalling Windows. Download a new copy via the media creation tool. A backup system can work with another Windows 10 machine. Also, use a utility to assess drive health.

I prepared the USB/DVD for the installer by following the manufacturer’s instructions. It seems the BIOS might require a specific resque disc to boot properly, so ensure you have the correct media if that’s the case.

I made a bootable USB using the "media creation tool" provided by Microsoft.

Is this original HDD? It seems like certain makers restrict hardware/software, so anything other than HP's approved products won't work.

Yes, I still use the original HDD. Earlier, someone installed Windows 10 and it worked fine. After a few months, Windows 10 stopped functioning properly, so I reinstalled it, but that didn’t help. I believe the drive isn’t locked.
