I am attempting to perform a Windows 11 Pro latest update on a Dell XPS-8960 equipped with an Intel i9 processor and 64 GB RAM. I have faced repeated issues when trying to create a system image backup on multiple USB drives, the second 1 TB drive in the system, and a network server. For the first two attempts, I encounter an error stating that the backup failed because the shadow copy on the source volume was deleted. I executed vssadmin commands to resize shadow storage but the problem continues. When saving to a network location, I receive an error about the location not being usable. Despite these challenges, the system image for my MSI laptop was saved successfully on the server. I had no issues with the backup process on my previous Dell XPS-8940. What am I doing incorrectly?

Do you have file and printer sharing enabled? It's not very likely, but it could be related to permissions and so on for the remote site. Since I back up to a NAS, I'm sure it would function.

It's not related to a network issue. The MSI with a network credentials problem still manages to create the image backup on the network properly.
