Suddenly, my monitor refused to enable HDR at 144Hz, only working at 60Hz or below, even though it had functioned perfectly for months. I haven’t made any adjustments that could trigger this issue, and it appears to be a Windows-related problem. As soon as I click “Use HDR,” the toggle switches instantly off. Why does that happen? I’ve tested various cables, but nothing has resolved it. I didn’t alter anything on the PC that should have caused this change or any Windows updates at the time it started.

It's not related to the app itself, unless I can turn it on at the system level, not just for each individual app.

The setup is quite disappointing. DP 1.4 doesn't support 4K HDR at 144 Hz, limiting it to a maximum of 120 Hz in that setting. For 4K HDR at full 144 Hz, you'd need a different cable—specifically one with DSC support—but standard DP 1.4 won't work.

Windows is a software program. Check if there was an update between "functioned and failed." If yes, revert it.
