Error encountered when trying to detect Windows installation on Steam Deck or PC.
I'm trying to run Windows 10 on my Steam Deck with an SD card, everything worked until I used the sleep feature. After waking up, the screen froze and it restarted into Steam OS. Now the card isn't recognized as a boot option. When I connected it to another PC, it still worked but caused errors like KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE and SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED. It also reported issues with writing to read-only memory, which appears in Disk Manager. I've already tried safe mode, but the same problems persist. Do you have a solution or should I reformat the card?
It seems your SD card might be faulty or damaged. On Windows systems, certain issues with sleep can occur. A quick fix is to take a photo of the card and run the CrystaldiskInfo utility to check for errors. If the card appears physically intact, simply erase it and reformat it, then attempt to use it again.
