Did it function before?... since it used to trigger that issue on Spotify but now it works fine.

I discovered a discussion on the Corsair forum (http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?t=130853). You might want to consider updating the .NET Framework or attempting to revert the corsair link firmware update. Also, is it unusual to share links to other forums here?
