When trying to open graphic files with the webp extension, a warning message shows. It mentions using Windows 10 Pro 22H2 64 bit and IrfanView from the Microsoft Store, but asks for instructions on installing all plug-ins in the Microsoft Store version instead of the standard one. The note also reminds that programs from the Microsoft Store update automatically and don’t clutter the system.

The latest update of IrfanView 4.62 includes a feature for entering the registration code. This change aims to clarify the distinction between registered and unregistered versions. The registration option was introduced to address questions about differences between the two versions. The purpose behind adding this feature was to provide users with clearer guidance on version-specific functionalities.

This version, in v4.59 for 32-bit on Windows 11 Pro, can likely be downloaded and installed directly from iview.

The association should only influence actions when double-clicking an image file in Windows Explorer.
I haven't installed Irfanview from the store before. I'm curious if webp images are meant to work natively without needing the plugin package?
Have you attempted to download and install the plugins yourself to test?
