I reviewed Linus's tutorial on 1.1.1.1 and thought it might improve my internet speed. After testing, it performed well until I realized my hotspot wouldn’t activate without it. It would display messages like “checking subscription status” or “unable to connect - data connection unavailable.” Restarting my phone, swapping the SIM card, and resetting network settings didn’t resolve the issue. If anyone has suggestions, I’d appreciate any advice. I own a Samsung Galaxy s8+.

It drains my battery quickly when it's on, which is why I'd keep it off most of the time.

It doesn’t significantly drain the battery on my Note 8. I encountered a completely different issue—perfect connection, but I couldn’t download or send pictures via Discord. All other functions worked fine. I removed the app and plan to try it again after installing Android Pi.

1.1.1.1 is frequently applied for hot spot fixes. But it seems this shouldn't cause issues on today's Samsung devices.
