Error encountered following the latest Windows 10 update in May 2021.
Hello Everyone,
Problem : I upgraded my operating system to 21H1 with recent patches recently, and today I experienced two Blue Screen errors consecutively within half an hour after doing nothing. Windows 10 Education 21H1 OS build 19043.985, Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.2020.0. Specifications : built in February; Ryzen 5 2600, RX 5600 XT, 16GB DDR4 3200MHz, B450 GAMING PLUS, MAX PNY XLR8, CS3030 256GB NVMe M.2 SSD (OS). TeamGroup GX2 1TB SATA SSD.
Details : After installing the 21H1 update from Windows, I performed several changes. Then I upgraded my BIOS from 7B86vH7 to 7B86vHB. I also installed the latest AMD chipset drivers (version 2.17.25.506) except for the Powerplan setting. Gaming continued normally – only occasional game crashes occurred, mainly during Dx12 in The Division 2.
Two days later, after more updates to 21H1 (installed yesterday), I encountered a sudden series of Blue Screen errors. Here are the Event Viewer findings:
First : Source : volmgr ID : 161 Message : Dump file creation failed due to error during dump creation. What I did : Ran a scan command, which resolved some corrupted files. But after 30 minutes, another BSOD appeared. Unclear if related.
Second : Source : BugCheck ID : 1001 Message : The computer rebooted from a bugcheck. Details: 0x0000001e (error code). A dump was saved at C:\WINDOWS\MEMORY.DMP. Report ID: 3cfc6ffa-03ba-4905-969c-8e6409feed8d.
What I did : Uninstalled KB5003214, updated BIOS to 7B86vHC, then used the PC for over 4 hours without crashes. Ran benchmarks – everything normal.
Attached is my minidump file. Could you help identify why these Blue Screen errors occurred? Also, some users claim KB5003173 causes the issue, but I can’t uninstall it – no option appears in Uninstall Updates. I need to understand the root cause. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
