I updated my PC by removing the GPU and re-installing it. Now I'm getting beeps from the speaker indicating a VGA problem. I tried several fixes: re-seating the GPU, adjusting the thermal paste, tightening the mount, and letting it rest in the PC for hours without improvement. Any suggestions?
If even a tiny part is damaged on the board, it might lead to failure. I’ve cleaned many graphics cards; usually just a light touch is enough. The cooler screws often have stops inside, so I inspect them and re-adjust if needed. Verify the card is properly seated and clean the PCIe slot with compressed air if you see any debris. Also, examine the spring contacts to ensure none are stuck in the connector, preventing contact with the card’s pins.
Use a different GPU to determine if the issue is related to the graphics card.
I’ve made a pretty big mistake. It turned out the issue was completely related to the GPU. The problem was that the power connector from the PSU side had disconnected, which I didn’t notice because I didn’t check the PSU at all. I assumed it was still plugged in since I thought it was. Once I fixed it, the PC started up normally without any issues—probably just a minor inconvenience.
I considered asking for a power check, but then realized it was too straightforward...
