Hey there! I’m finally putting together my first PC and running into some issues. When it powers on, it hangs for a couple of minutes before cutting out without warning. The BIOS code displayed is 00. All the fans are spinning but the USB power drops instantly. I can’t shut it down using the power button—only the PSU can be turned off. Any advice would be super helpful. My specs: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X, 3.8 GHz, 12 cores. Cooler: Corsair H100i RGB PLATINUM 75 CFM. Motherboard: Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Hero (WI-FI). RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro, 32 GB. Storage: Toshiba P300 3 TB. GPU: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER, 8 GB. PSU: Corsair RMx (2018), 750 W, Gold certified.

Start by clearing the CMOS. Look for a button on the back I/O panel and keep it pressed for about 20 seconds. After that, attempt to post the board again. Code 00 isn’t active and the board won’t power up. You might also try flashing the BIOS if the original is only 702. You can find the latest bios at the provided link. Your manual should include steps for this process.

Thanks for your message. It’s great you’re taking these steps. Clearing CMOS and updating BIOS didn’t help, and the shutdown with increased fan speed is unusual. Let me know if you’d like further troubleshooting tips.

Use process of elimination. Consider a different PSU (borrow someone's 500W or higher). Test the CPU on another machine. Try one stick of RAM in slot A1. Make sure both dimmer switches are in slots A2 and B2. Repeat as needed.
