Error encountered during the startup of Minecraft.
I've discussed this topic before, but it seemed like just a temporary fix. Recently, I returned my new PC from the shop. I was using an older 1030 build before switching to this new one, and it ran Minecraft without any crashes at launch. About five days ago, I replaced the SSD in this newer build.
The system now has:
- 980 GPU
- 650W PSU
- Maximus Hero VII Motherboard
- i-7 4790k CPU
- 500GB SSD
- Windows 10
When launching Minecraft, the best result is the home screen with both Singleplayer and Multiplayer options, but my computer still bluescreens. This issue has persisted since I got the new build. Please help or let me know what might be causing it.
I refreshed the Minecraft Launcher again and the issue persists, is there anything further to check?
Check the event viewer for any unusual error codes. Which BSOD code are you encountering?
The BSOD error code indicates a Clock Watchdog Timeout. It seems there are many warnings, some errors, and a few critical issues in your Administrative Events.
They cloned the previous drive instead of reinstalling Windows.
I would likely begin with that. This ensures everything functions properly. Most repair shops install the OS and it works fine—just Windows 10 loading smoothly. They typically don’t handle updates or drivers. Make sure you’ve backed up your data before proceeding.
