Error encountered during system boot.
I recently assembled my PC and it functioned properly for around six hours on Windows 11. After that, it would crash unexpectedly. Initially, after a restart, I could access the desktop for roughly 30 seconds to a minute before it would freeze and stop working. Now it always ends up with a blue screen, displaying either the "CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT" or "MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION" error. Even when I attempt to boot into safe mode or restart in normal mode, it triggers the automatic repair screen and then restarts. After a reboot, it loads but immediately returns to the blue screen again, sometimes with the same error code. I’ve tried different RAM configurations and even disabled XMP settings, but the issue persists. My motherboard is an ASUS Strix Z790-E, equipped with an i7 13700K CPU, DDR5 RAM at 6400 MHz, and a Strix 4090 chipset. This situation is really frustrating because I invested a lot in building my ideal PC and it’s not working. I’m hoping someone can help identify whether the problem lies with hardware or software. The motherboard displays code 37, which seems to indicate "post-memory system agent initialization started." I’m not sure what this means or how to fix it. I just want my computer to function correctly.
The Clock_Watchdog_Timeout BSOD issue involves communication problems between your system and CPU. It's a normal system event called a "system interrupt." If your system lingers too long in this phase, you may encounter a blue screen error. The Blue Screen of Death (BSoD) Machine Check Exception happens when your system fails to load or identify installed hardware or software.
Do you think your CPU might be faulty? Or is it the motherboard? It seems like the games ran smoothly for six hours before things went wrong. You've already tried several solutions—booting from Windows via BIOS on a USB, running MemTest86 through the BIOS, and restarting after it reaches 80%. Despite these efforts, your computer still shuts down abruptly. It’s strange that the RAM appears to be the issue, but I’m not sure which component is the problem. I removed the GPU and the symptoms stayed the same. I’m wondering if replacing the motherboard, CPU, or RAM would be the best course of action.
