Hey there, so I just upgraded my new PC with a new processor (R7 5800X) and motherboard (Rog Strix B550-A). I used the components I already owned: GTX 1660ti, four 8GB 3000MHz Crucial Ballistix sticks, a Corsair 650W power supply, and some storage. After installing Windows, drivers, and Adobe CC, I got my first crash—BSOD with an uncorrectable error. Once I went back to Windows, it felt more stable, especially when installing CS:GO on a hard drive. But then things started acting up quickly; after about 15 minutes of play, another crash occurred, followed by consistent crashes while playing and having a YouTube window open. I tried many fixes on Windows—changed settings, adjusted voltages, even undervolting—but nothing worked. I managed to prevent crashes by manually setting the CPU frequency to 3.8GHz in BIOS instead of letting it auto-adjust. Still, I feel like performance is lacking and would prefer leaving it on auto without frequent crashes. Also, I only have an 8-pin connection, while my PS has a 4-pin port (I think this might be the issue). Hope someone can help me out. Sorry for the poor English. Thanks!

The absence of the 4-pin isn’t a cause for concern. Have you set up Armory Crate? If yes, delete it via the tool on the motherboards site. It led to similar problems. Are you using the newest BIOS or chipset drivers?

I'm going to try uninstalling Armory Crate now. The latest BIOS is fine, but the chipset drivers are missing—I forgot to install it during the boot SSD reformat. (Note: Before reformatting I had it installed and still faced the same problem.) Let's see what happens. Thank you! I checked—everything looks identical! I unplugged the cables and plugged them back in, too. Also, I tried using two sticks at those positions, even with different ones. Still no change. Thanks again.

As I expected, it stopped 20 seconds after the Windows Latest chipset drivers were installed, without any Armoury Crate updates. Standard BIOS configurations applied.

Installation requires the official Asus utility, not just a standard uninstall. When starting up without XMP support, the system may behave differently.

I tried the tool on the Asus site too. The last issue happened using the standard BIOS configuration—no XMP support, but the system ran smoothly with a locked CPU ratio of 38x and 40x at 3000Mhz.

Additionally, when the CPU ratio is configured as Auto, clock speeds fluctuate significantly, even under idle conditions, shifting between 3.8 and 4.8 MHz (verified via Task Manager).
