I’m facing issues with a refurbished build I’m donating. It had an old CPU and SSD, but after updating the BIOS it still worked perfectly. When I try pressing F2 or DEL, it jumps straight to the American Megatrends screen instead of entering BIOS. I’ve tested booting without a flash drive or any external devices, and the same problem persists. Removing the CMOS battery and short-circuiting the pins didn’t help. The system shows as Ryzen 5 5500, GTX 1080, DDR4 3600mHz, and uses an Asus ROG Strix B450-F motherboard with an EVGA 600 BQ power supply.

Use F1 to launch the setup. BIOS on boards is frequently referred to as setup.

AMI employs F1, F2 or DEL for accessing BIOS settings. It seems your system likely uses F1.

I noticed you mentioned it before, but you didn’t say what you meant. Could you clarify your request?

I completely missed mentioning that I've done it before, that's my mistake. However, I've tried so far without success.

The command initiates a shutdown of the system, forces a reboot, and then restarts it using the BIOS. This action will terminate any running processes before powering off the machine.

It seems the system was confusing two keyboards at first, but after changing one, everything worked properly. I’m still unsure what caused the problem with the keyboard, but it’s resolved now.

The Bios failed to interpret the previous keyboard, missing any Key input from that device. The updated keyboard's input was successfully detected by the system.
