Error encountered during startup.
Purchased two 4TB Ironwolf NAS units and attempted setup this evening. Both failed to initialize, displaying the same error repeatedly. My system runs an i7 8700k on a Maximus X motherboard with the latest BIOS. Could there be an issue, or should I avoid using NAS drives as standard PC storage?
Have you attempted the "clean all" command through the Disk part, and then tried to initialize the drives afterward?
The process leads to an error message indicating initialization or formatting failure.
You're dealing with a curious issue where drives behave differently depending on the data cable you use. It seems the initialization depends on the specific cable, but once connected to the problematic one, they function perfectly. This inconsistency suggests something about the cable compatibility or driver setup that's affecting performance.
