Hey there, I'm working with an MSI B450 Tomahawk Max motherboard. While adjusting my RAM, I came across a feature called Memory Failure Retry in BIOS. It seems it automatically restarts the system after a failed memory operation instead of resetting the CMOS. After trying to adjust the timing and even tightening it further, I still didn't see a boot. So I waited for the black screen to appear, hoping it would bring me back to BIOS. Unfortunately, it didn't work, and I ended up needing a CMOS reset.

Have you experimented with adjusting the SOC voltage? Begin at 1.10V up to 1.15V. Which CPU are you using?

It seems the configuration pushes the motherboard to attempt a retry after a memory issue. It doesn't revert to standard safe settings, just keeps trying to boot. This behavior can happen if the system isn't properly resetting after failure. Some motherboards include a safe boot option that restores default settings without wiping current changes. IME Asus boards are recommended for this purpose.

I'm experimenting with this setup. I have a Ryzen 5 3600 paired with Corsair Vengeance 3000mhz CL16 that's been overclocked to 3333 MHz. At 3400 MHz it doesn't run smoothly. Even when I try to reduce latency down to CL15, it fails. It just displays a black screen until I reset the CMOS, which I want to avoid. The memory retry isn't working either. Thanks for your help!
