Error encountered during Ram Upgrade process.
Details : Ryzen 5 3600 1660 super GPU, 1 HDD, 1 NVMe SSD, 1 SATA SSD B450 steel legend motherboard. The issue began when one of my RAM modules failed a few days ago. After swapping in an 8GB module (G SKILL RIPJOWS 3200), the system started functioning normally. I purchased another identical stick (CL 16 18 18 38) and installed it in the B2 slot alongside the existing one in A2. The PC would not boot and kept powering on repeatedly. When I removed the new module, it worked perfectly. I also tried pairing both sticks in A1 and A2 combinations, but they didn’t connect properly—only A2 was recognized. Please advise how to resolve this. Thank you.
Mixing RAM can lead to issues, as seen in your situation. Even though you order the same type, there are still differences inside. You’ll likely need to purchase multiple packs of RAM.
It seems the issue was resolved by adjusting the XMP settings. I cleared my BIOS, disabled XMP, swapped in a new card, and it’s now functioning properly.
In fact, the RAM that failed didn't actually deteriorate. It seems there was an issue with its configuration, causing it to stop functioning. That's why I ended up purchasing an extra 8GB stick, haha.
