Error encountered during driver installation.
The PC with a 1060 started showing issues after replacing cables and a monitor. After swapping in a spare monitor, the problem persisted with red dots and a black screen during installation. Attempts to fix it with DDU and HDMI cords didn’t resolve the issue. Now there’s no display at all, even in safe mode. It seems the hardware may be faulty. Consider replacing the 1060 if possible.
Are you referring to needing the Nvidia drivers only during driver installation? The system should work with standard display drivers instead.
The 1060 is not dead, it's just been updated to the 750 version which now works properly.
I only have a single PCI slot, which is why I can't connect. But I'm almost certain it's not working. I tried again and there was no image. It spins up, but nothing appears.
if it spinning up then its not dead, usally if components are dead like a motherboard they will not power on at all the driver is software based not hardware based try uninstalling all the drivers for gpus(including the 750 and 1060) with ddu. 100 percent sure this is a windows issue.
Following the DDU, the 1060 screen appears once more. Unfortunately, the HDMI connection is failing. Excessive motion often leads to red dots or complete image loss.
