Hey, I recently powered on my old PC and started experiencing frequent crashes every about five minutes. After thinking it through, I realized the SSD was nearly full, so it attempted to delete data aggressively just to force a crash and restore everything. I spent hours trying to launch the Windows installer, but it kept failing to format the drive. Eventually, I replaced the SSD with a new one. When I tried to boot from an USB drive, the installation window would load and then crash repeatedly. The system is running Windows 10 x64. Was the original OS an OEM version or a full retail release? How old is the hardware—your system is around 10 years old? Have you reinstalled the operating system before? Your machine has an i7-4820K, 10GB RAM, and an Asus X79 TUF motherboard. The power supply isn’t solid, but I’m not entirely sure. I’ve already tried removing the CMOS battery, changing RAM, and even reseating the GPU, but nothing seems to work consistently. Once everything boots into BIOS without issues, Windows installs normally, but USB installations always fail.

It displays various error codes during the BSOD, such as 0x00000001 for memory issues, 0x00000004 for driver problems, and 0x00000010 for hardware faults. The exact codes depend on the system and hardware involved.

You're having trouble setting up a fresh installation because the new SSD appears to be empty and crashes shortly after Windows begins the setup process.
