I recently assembled my initial PC and have encountered several blue screens labeled as “memory management error.” I’m using two Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 16 GB (2x8 GB) sticks on an Asus ROG Strix B450-F gaming motherboard. With both sticks installed, I experience MM errors. The Windows Memory Diagnostic tool found no issues. I’ve also tested running one stick at a time in the same slot—one worked perfectly, playing CSGO and browsing without problems. Switching to another stick caused MM errors even before logging in. I suspect a faulty RAM module, but I’d appreciate advice from someone more experienced. Thank you ahead of time.
Perform the test using a bootable USB on the suspected faulty stick
I’ll need to purchase a USB drive. Even if the faulty stick appears fine, there could be other issues you might encounter.
If both sticks were triggering the BSOD, it might point to a defective DIMM slot. However, because you checked them in the same slot, the only factor that changed was the individual stick.
