I'm working on resolving a problem with my Windows machine. The issue involves faint red lines appearing during startup, but they disappear when I enter safe mode. No one seems to have reported this exact scenario online, and standard fixes haven't helped. A screenshot was included for clarity, though the quality is not great. Both the monitor and cable function independently. Updating drivers via Win + Ctrl + Shift + B didn’t resolve it. I can access WinRE to boot into safe mode where the lines vanish, but uninstalling drivers there didn’t change anything. Windows appears to be handling it, and notifications are still audible. Any possible solutions? Relevant specs: Asus TUF Gaming - e WiFi, AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, RTX 3060.

Monitor and cable function independently, yet I wasn't sure if the red indicators appear on a different screen.

I'll attempt it, but why is it limited to just that screen? Just a thought.

This helps you discover issues you haven’t encountered or can’t find online. You might want to check if they appear at different resolutions or refresh rates. Safe mode may use less power through various ways, and the monitor might not adjust until a certain power level is reached. Some post-processing changes could be missing in safe mode. There are many possible explanations, but only by narrowing it down do you know what’s going on.

You might consider using DDU to reinstall the display driver. It seems like the monitor is failing. Running in safe mode usually lowers the resolution, and at 60 FPS it could be the capacitor or power supply inside the monitor that’s failing, which might prevent the driver from handling higher demands.

It was really odd connecting a new monitor—it functioned flawlessly with full refresh rate. After that, the old one also started working instantly and has remained so. I’m quite puzzled and thankful; I never imagined this would happen, and I have no clue how or why it worked.

That's a strange choice, but if it functions, it does.
