I recently assembled a new computer. I acquired some RAM with my motherboard and everything worked fine. Now I’ve added more of the same and started experiencing blue screens and crashes in Windows. The specs are: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D, MSI X670E tomahawk Wi-Fi, G.Skill Flare X5.
Well, the issue is clear. AM5 and Ryzen 7000 models struggle with multiple memory modules, especially when using DDR5. This is mainly because of memory controller constraints. You might have better luck with XMP or EXPO disabled at 4800Mhz. That’s why we’re seeing more 2x24GB or 2x48GB sticks to increase capacity with just two modules. You could also consider updating your motherboard’s BIOS, as newer versions usually offer more stable and compatible RAM support. This problem isn’t new—many users have faced it with four sticks on AM5, and it’s unfortunately quite common.
