Hello everyone - After restarting my TrueNAS server, it begins the shutdown process around half of the way before displaying this message in the console: Enter full pathname of shell or return for /bin/sh. I replaced the boot drive to check if that was the cause, then restored the configuration from before the issue started, and during the next shutdown it repeated the same error. Could you advise what to do next? Appreciate your help.
This might simply indicate a corrupted installation. A fresh OS setup followed by importing your files could resolve the issue.
I've been checking the true nas and freebsd discussion boards recently, and it seems most talks focus on startup issues. My own experience is different—it happens during shutdown, not startup. I plan to investigate further and see how it goes. Appreciate the advice!
The issue arose from a failing hard drive and NFS not shutting down properly. I resolved it by replacing the drive and adjusting the GUI settings to disable Shutdown Tasks for Samba, NFS, SSH, and S.M.A.R.T services.
