I recently acquired 32 gigabytes of Corsair RGB RAM at 3600MHz and added it to my setup. My system features a Ryzen 5 2600x with the default cooler MSI GTX 1660 Super Ventus XS OC MSI B450 Tomahawk Max. The new RAM, along with a 500-watt 80+ Bronze PSU and Corsair Carbide 275r, is rated for 3600MHz. Before installation, my system booted normally. After setting the CPU overclock to 4.0 GHz and confirming the RAM speed was correct, I restarted the PC but still received a “No DisplayPort detected” message on my ASUS monitor. I've tested different DP connectors without success. A red light near the RAM indicates the CPU is active. Did I push the CPU beyond safe limits? What steps should I take next?
Must be a bad overclock profile. Just clear the CMOS to restore everything to factory settings and try again. Some boards may have a button for you to just revert to the last stable OC profile, but your board may not have something like that. Clearing the CMOS is just the easiest solution that would be guaranteed to work.
