I assembled a computer today, but when trying to start it, I received the following message: "-Error: No storage device(s) are detected. Press Enter to go back to Legacy BIOS. Press F8 to troubleshoot." What could be causing this issue? I have two 500 GB hard drives and one 128 GB SSD. When I press F8 for troubleshooting, the system checks everything but still doesn't recognize any drive or SSD. I removed them and reinserted them, but it didn’t work. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Explore the BIOS settings and verify the SATA options. It may automatically disable SATA ports leading to this problem. Are the drives visible in the BIOS? If yes, simply insert your Windows USB drive into the computer and boot from it. The installer will detect the drives, after which you can mount the SSD using Windows.

You mentioned earlier about the PSU lacking enough power connectors. After replacing the components, I still didn’t see any new storage drives installed. It might be why they aren’t being detected. Both the SATA power and data cables appear to be connected.

The BIOS fails to identify any storage devices. I tried accessing the boot menu, but it displayed nothing.

Ensure the SATA controller remains active in the BIOS settings. Since you didn’t provide details, the system typically has a storage controller option available.

The system doesn't recognize a SATA controller in the BIOS. I adjusted some configurations and encountered this message: "No devices were found in MBR Legacy BIOS. Please switch to UEFI BIOS to access GPT drives. Press Enter to return to Legacy BIOS. Press F8 for troubleshooting." Any ideas?

If no drives appear in BIOS, that’s a warning. Try connecting your Windows install USB to check. Certain boards might require the Windows installer to load a driver before disks function. Open the installer and verify it recognizes your drives. This often works with NVMe, though exceptions exist. Make sure UEFI is enabled and CSM is disabled.

It functioned correctly. I changed from Legacy to UEFI in my BIOS settings, and all the storage devices appeared.
