Morning, All,
I've been working on a Windows 11 update issue for a few days. The error code is 0x8000ffff, and I've found some online help, but it seems to be specific to Windows 10. Anyone know how to fix this?
TIA,
Larry

what version update are you attempting to apply?
have you considered turning off your antivirus software?
have you run the update troubleshooter?
you might also install the update via an .ISO file, which is suitable for major Windows upgrades or other cases. this way you can retain your apps and data, making it similar to the official Windows update, though it may resolve fewer issues. download here >

MS has released several updates recently that have caused similar issues across the board.
most of these have been connected to Defender and were resolved after later patches.
unless this update affects your system's performance or creates further problems,
i recommend waiting until the issue is addressed on their end, after which it should install normally.

Attempting to install 2024-02 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 Version 23H2 on x64 systems (KB5034848)
Seems the anti-virus was removed during the process.
The update troubleshooter didn’t assist.
I haven’t used an .ISO file yet, maybe that’s the next step! <thanks>

I downloaded the ISO and attempted to install it. Nothing changed.
I emptied the update cache, but there was still no improvement.
Any other suggestions?

I finally used the brute force approach and performed an in-place upgrade of my existing Win11Pro OS. It takes some time, but it resolved my issues with updates and significantly improved my I/O performance!
