Hi everyone, I recently assembled a PC that performed well until a busy work period made me stop using it for months. It had an i7 5960x processor, 8GB RAM, DDR4 memory, a Titan XP GPU, and an ASUS X99s motherboard. I suspect a power surge during unusual weather might have caused issues, but otherwise everything seemed normal. When the PC started up, it displayed a signal but froze on the attached screen, asking me to go to BIOS for a reset. However, when I pressed the BIOS access button, it went black (no signal). I attempted several fixes: clearing CMOS via the motherboard, removing the CMOS battery for 5 minutes, swapping batteries, discharging the PSU, reseating the CPU, removing cable extensions, changing the power cable, rolling back and updating BIOS through ASUS Flashback. I don’t have another motherboard or CPU to test with, but I’m hoping someone can offer advice before I consider a new build. I really value this system and prefer not to upgrade just yet. Thanks in advance!
