Hello everyone, I recently purchased a motherboard from Alliexpress along with two RAM sticks, CPUs, and an NIC for future network upgrades. I’m unsure if this matters since my PSU is 700W Gold. The board features an X99 Dual CPU model with E5-2680V4 chipsets, 2 x DDR4 16GB 3200MHz modules, a 10G Double Port Ethernet card, and the X540-T2. As described in the title, things didn’t go as expected, and I’m still encountering Debug Error: 79 after removing components from the motherboard. I tried various minimal boot combinations but have no idea what to try next. Your advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

It seems you're facing a challenge with the seller, but using an HDMI connection might be a viable solution.

What minimal setup you've built? Just a single stick of proven RAM (verified on another board), one CPU, one drive, and no extras. Checked every RAM slot and CPU socket—it's a lot of configuration.

I have a second graphics card that supports HDMI, though it hasn't worked as expected. I've read mixed reviews, so I wasn't sure if it was worth the effort. I haven't tested any CPU yet—I believe this model requires both CPUs but I don't recall where I saw it before. I've tried several configurations:

1. One HDD drive and two RAM sticks
2. One M2 drive with two RAM sticks
3. One Nvidia T400 GPU with two RAM sticks
4. One Nvidia GTX 760 GPU with two RAM sticks (swapped slots)
5. All components together, but the first time it worked with the NIC, but error 79 appeared; the second time it wouldn't power on at all.

I'm looking for alternative RAM options and will let you know what I try next.

I've talked to the people who sell the motherboard and they said it only works with ECC RAM, so I bought some and am hoping it will function. (hope it works) Additionally, it looks like I might have another issue—I’ve purchased an Nvidia Tesla P40 24GB, but it doesn’t fit in my 2u rack case because the fans are too close to the motherboard. I actually unscrewed the two bottom screws that hold the fans to make room.

New ECC RAM is now available and functioning properly. However, the second M.2 slot isn’t showing up even though you think it’s not NVMe-based. You might be able to use two M.2 drives together in RAID 0 for improved performance.
