Hello, <Background Information>. I frequently use VR and recently got a Reverb G2 about a year ago. In December of last year, it stopped working and I received a replacement that seemed to be my original device (serial numbers varied). Still, it mostly functioned, though I've faced several issues—like needing to plug wires repeatedly or restarting the PC—but it never completely failed. Around 24 hours ago, I had to plug it in again and managed to play VR for hours. However, I consistently experienced tracking loss that disrupted my experience. Unfortunately, this isn’t unusual even in a well-lit space.

<Current Issue> My headset is displaying an error code ranging from 1 to 8. This code has never appeared before, and I haven’t turned off my computer since the last time it worked. No changes have been made to my system. The HP logo lights up, but the display remains inactive.

What I’ve tried so far:
- Reconnected every cable end multiple times
- Restarted the PC twice
- Disabled Nvidia DSR
- Applied the latest Windows update (KB5028254)
- Used a spare cable (both V2)
- Adjusted monitor settings to 50 Hz and back to 60 Hz
- Set VR to 60 Hz after changing from 90 Hz
- Unplugged both monitors and the headset
- Reinstalled drivers
- Updated Mixed Reality settings
- Plugged in VR headset first into the port I’ve used before
- Removed everything linked to WMR and performed a full system reset
- Installed the DP repeater on the motherboard
- Tried booting with the main monitor unplugged</span>

This problem appeared on the same GPU repeatedly. Changing the monitor connection from HDMI to DP resolved it instantly.

They advised me to return the device (I’d already sent another headset for a faulty part) and they provided a replacement. Later, I faced an unrelated problem that required a full PC reset, which made the new unit functional temporarily. I didn’t post initially because it was months later, but I plan to test the switch method if the issue reappears on the new model.
