I recently changed my RAM from an 8GB stick to two 8GB sticks. It’s been crashing unexpectedly during use, and memory management reports hardware issues. I ordered a replacement from Amazon, but the new sticks still caused problems after installation. I’m unsure if it’s a RAM slot issue or something else. My BIOS is up to date, but the problem persists. I’m using an Intel i5-9600k Z390-A Pro MSI board with two 8GB Kingston DDR4 modules.

Did you revert your BIOS configuration back to the standard defaults first? The JEDEC fail-safe defaults are intended to function—if they don’t, there might be an issue. Keep in mind, the XMP profile for one type of RAM might not apply to another. Your single 8GB module could have varying timing specs compared to your new 16GB unit.

^ consider adjusting xmp using the updated stick on its own. If variations in latency appear, try aligning them to a common value. Test each one individually.

I haven't tested the two suggestions yet, but I can verify that each stick shows no "Hardware problems" in memory diagnostics. Both function properly in the dual channel slots. I'm still looking for guidance, so thank you for the earlier comments and any useful advice.
