This might be the final update. I received a call from ASUS about my ticket. They explained that the board sometimes fails to boot when unused slots aren’t selected. That’s possible but could cause instability. Being unable to boot only on slot 1 (A1) is expected and doesn’t necessarily mean the motherboard is faulty. It wouldn’t bother me if ASUS or AMD hadn’t warned me beforehand during the initial call—that a non-functional first slot might indicate a defective board or slot. Also, DDR5 can sometimes lead to various problems today. I successfully installed all 4x32GB RAM with the first CPU, but not with the second. Since I couldn’t use 128GB at a “moderate” speed and exceeding 64GB isn’t critical, I’m likely using two 32GB modules in dual-channel as AMD suggests for AM5. From what I understand, this is tied to the CPU’s memory controller and BIOS version, and it should remain that way for a long time. I assumed the 7950X could handle 128GB DDR, but I didn’t anticipate issues linked to the new, powerful CPU. Perhaps a future BIOS update will resolve this, or it might be an unresolved matter.

I’ve faced similar problems mostly on the same spots. I’d love a solution that could resolve this. The issue is consuming a lot more RAM than expected, especially with an 8k60 camera producing high-res images that drain resources when scrolling through them. It’s frustrating and has cost me a lot of time trying to make it work.

Same C5 on Aorus Master x670e with 7950x3d and Corsair Vengeance 192GB 5200MHz @ xmp 5200. All good after reboot. Earlier I tried OC up to 6000MHz, possibly RAM had a flashback issue. Testmem5 works fine at 5200. Still unstable with 5600/5800 and new F13A BIOS.

Excited to find this article since I’m facing the same problem with slot 1 (C5/0d). It keeps booting with all four sticks but resets to 0d when restarted. Have you had a solution? Could buying two 32GB sticks fix it? Aorus Master x670e, 7800x3d, Corsair vengeance 6000 MHZ, 4x16GB sticks.

Revisiting the setup to check if problems have been fixed. I assembled my PC using these components: 1. Motherboard: ROG Crosshair x670e Hero 2. CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9950x 3. Graphics: NVIDIA RTX A5000 4. RAM: G. Skill Trident Z5 NEO RGB 64GB (2×32GB) at 6000MT/s 5. Power supply: Corsair RM1000x Fully Modular ATX I’ve experienced most of the same issues during installation, except it appears the B2 slot isn’t functioning properly. I can boot into BIOS with just one stock in the A2 slot, but it consistently triggers a C5 error when attempting dual-channel booting. Based on the listed specifications, I don’t think swapping parts will resolve the issue, and I’m uncertain about the next steps. I’ve updated the BIOS, verified the RAM is on the QV list, and adjusted the power settings for RAM and speed in the BIOS to aim for a more stable startup, but it’s still not working.
