Not long ago I started my computer as usual and began installing valorant (I haven't played it in a while). The setup went well until suddenly my PC froze. Alt+f4 didn’t help, the task manager wasn’t accessible, and my caps lock stopped working. While listening to music, the headphones emitted a loud buzzing sound. I pressed the restart button and tried again, but then a BSOD appeared with the message "page fault in nonpaged area." The PC restarted, but nothing displayed. I’ve restarted it several times without any improvement. It seems stuck because all fans—case fans, CPU cooler, and GPU fans—spin at maximum speed only briefly when I power on. After switching my RAM from the second slot to the fourth, the issue persists. I have just one DDR4 8GB stick running at 2400MHz. The EZ debug LED on the top of my MSI B350 gaming plus motherboard is illuminated. According to the manual, it’s the CPU and DRAM that are active. What should I do next? Help is needed!

Hi buddy, Have you already reset the CMOS? It’s usually a button or a jumper on the motherboard that wipes all BIOS settings and resets it to the factory level. You might also remove the entire case and reassemble it on cardboard for a fresh start. Sometimes a small screw or a piece of metal caught behind the motherboard can cause issues—check the RAM slots and contacts for any debris. Do you have another stick, compatible RAM, or someone who can lend one? If not, your next step will be to take out the CPU from its socket, inspect the pins for damage, and reposition them properly. Note – when doing a DIY build to test startup, you don’t need to fully assemble the case. For POST testing, just place the heat sink or block on the CPU with a thin layer of thermal paste. As long as you’re only trying to access the BIOS, you shouldn’t overheat it. Just power off the PC once you’re confident it’s booting up, then reassemble everything carefully.

Hello, I installed a new RAM from a friend this evening. It’s running smoothly at 2*3200mhz with XMP enabled. When I reinstalled G.Skill RAM, the issue reappeared. It seems I may need to replace my current RAM. Should we consider it defective or investigate further?
