I just installed a new shell for my broken hinge on my DS Lite. After spending around an hour and a half disassembling the device to test it (without shoulder buttons or screws in the bottom case), it won’t boot. I suspect the antenna might be installed incorrectly. My other problem is that the top screen isn’t working, which has been an issue since I bought the phone, but I’ve already replaced the screen, so don’t worry about that. Overall, I’m really puzzled about why it’s not functioning properly, even though I think I’m pretty sure it’s the right way to go.

I solved the issue by examining the antenna cable. It seems the DS won’t start without it, just like the Wii. I’ll have to purchase the replacement parts.
