Hello forum members, I've been facing a problem with my Windows 8.1 system recently. Whenever I attempt to install or configure software, the installer launches, I agree to the terms, press install, and then an error pops up displaying code 2755. This issue appears with around 20 different programs. I suspect the problem stems from IOBit Uninstaller removing registry entries during uninstallation, causing those files to become corrupted. I've searched for solutions but most recommend paid tools to fix the registry. Additionally, I notice my program icons are disappearing and replaced by a blank image. Below are some images that might help clarify what's happening. My main question is: Is there a simple (free) method to resolve this, or should I back up my PC from February? Thanks for your help, Tony.

Another issue occurred during installation of VLC Player, possibly linked to Virtual DJ. The same error code 2755 appears when setting up Virtual DJ as well.

Create a new folder named "Windows Installer" for your installation files.

I set up an installer folder in the Windows folder and applied Microsoft Fixit to fix the registry problems. It works now!
