Error 0xc0000212 occurs following memory overclocking.
Hi,
I encountered this issue after increasing my memory speed to 3200. Before the BIOS update it functioned properly, but after the upgrade I received error 0xc0000212 and was unable to boot into Windows 10. I reduced it to 2400 and everything worked again. Interestingly, my RAM is labeled as 3200, yet based on my knowledge it should be around 2133, not matching what I expected before the BIOS change. The system runs on a Ryzen 5 1600X with ASUS Strix B350-F, using BIOS version 0806 to 3401, and the RAM is G.Skillz Trident Z RGB 3200MHz. The OS is Windows 10.
QVL isn't the focus, it's just the specific tests they performed on certain boards. It doesn't reflect compatibility with all memory types or boards. Not testing every module doesn't mean it won't work—it's a limited sample.
They typically check around 10% of available modules for compatibility to give a general sense. This isn't a complete assessment.
Could you share the exact part number?
Following the BIOS upgrade, all configurations were altered. The memory wouldn't have been set at 3200mhz but would have returned to the default SPD without adjusting it manually or restoring an XMP profile. I recommend revisiting the BIOS and resetting the XMP settings.
Checking the installed modules and total installed memory is important. You may need to reset the XMP values and then increase the memory voltage by 0.05-0.10v for stability if you're using more than two modules.
After updating the BIOS, all configurations change. The memory wouldn’t have been saved at 3200mhz and would have gone back to the default SPD without adjusting (tuning) the OC or restoring the XMP profile. I’d revert to the BIOS and set the XMP profile again.
I need to check how many modules are installed and the total installed memory. It might be needed to reset XMP values and then increase the memory voltage by .05-.10v if you have more than two modules.
After some research, I discovered my motherboard doesn’t support RAM at 3200Mhz. The QVL didn’t list it, and testing at other speeds (2400, 2666, 2800) worked fine. It seems Asus hasn’t yet supported the Trident Z RGB for the Strix B350-F. What do you think? You’re using two 8GB modules with a voltage of 1.2V.

What are the exact part numbers for your modules?
