Erase External HDD ?
Erase External HDD ?
You have a 5TB external drive with the disc management console showing it as split. The unallocated space is grayed out and appears to be an MBR. It only allows erasing 1.9TB, leaving half unallocated. This issue occurs in Windows 11.
If the area is "unallocated", it becomes essentially cleared...nothing remains there. A snapshot of your Disk Management would be useful.
Still right, but can't erase or reuse. Thanks for the assistance.

You cannot simply remove or wipe unallocated space. However, you can incorporate it into an existing partition—specifically, partition E. Is this the solution you're looking for? A right-click on partition E would likely provide the necessary options. What alternatives appear when you proceed that way? If all else fails, a third-party utility might be necessary.
The system is currently running MBR, limiting the partition size to 2.2TB. It requires reformatting to GPT.
Please adjust the formatting as needed. The other section should be converted to GPT format so it can utilize the unallocated space effectively.
