The 3300 model was launched some time after the 3600 release, so a 5300 version is likely coming soon or mid-year 2021 if you're lucky.

With four-core chips, it seems like they’ll hold off until they face a serious storage issue, as this means losing half the cores of the CPU.

I’m likely to differ from you, sir. A 5300x might have fewer cores, but it offers faster clock speeds and suits someone who doesn’t plan to encode videos while gaming via software encoding. Using a hardware GPU instead of a software CPU for encoding is a sensible choice for a mid-range build. AMD should offer CPUs across various price ranges, and not releasing the 5300x would be akin to Intel halting production of I3 processors—those Ryzen 3 and I3 models exist because they serve specific customer needs. That’s my perspective on the issue.

I’m completely certain about the core count distribution: quad cores offer two per core per cluster, hexa cores provide three, octa gives four, and so on. I recall seeing this information somewhere specific.
