EPS12V on X79 board with CPU installed
The short appears simply because the CPU (1650V2) is placed in the socket, and the ILM remains unaffected. The board is an ASUS P9X79 LE. Currently, nothing else is connected beyond the CPU and PSU. I removed the VRM heatsink and tested continuity with a multimeter against ground, as shown in the attached photo. Without a CPU, the EPS connector shows a consistent increase in resistance, similar to other Intel boards I've used. This is my second attempt with a CPU; I don’t have another LGA2011 part available. The PSU being a CX750M (2017) confirms its SCP works.
