I purchased a Seagate Exos Enterprise 10TB drive for my NAS but it uses a different port than what I have. How can I modify it to fit an older PC? Also, what does the connector on the far right serve for?

This connector is a SAS interface—SATA drives work with it, but not the reverse.

Yes, you can use the Amazon product BLLNDX SFF-8482 for a SATA cable SAS hard disk connected to your motherboard via the SATA port adapter wire.

My workstation features a SAS controller with SATA ports on the motherboard for signal transmission. Devices like this are meant to connect specifically to SAS controllers via those ports. Obtain the drive and purchase the SATA variant, or acquire a HBA.

You'll require a SAS card to operate this device. This setup won't function otherwise.

You have a SAS drive but your motherboard only supports SATA controllers. A SATA drive with a SAS controller won't work, so you should return the drive and purchase a standard SATA model. Consider purchasing a SAS HBA, but a regular SATA drive is more suitable.
